What began as a well loved lakehouse in Burlington is now a home that matches its setting.
Monien Construction reworked the existing structure and built a new addition that opens the main living spaces to the water, pairing the original character of the home with new framing, custom millwork, and finishes selected to last. Every stage, from demolition through final trim, was managed by one owner and one crew.
The result does not read as an addition at all. It reads as the home this shoreline was always waiting for.

About the Builder
Monien Construction is an owner led builder of custom homes and fine renovations in the lake country of southeastern Wisconsin, building since 2008.
Founder Nick Monien runs one crew and takes a limited number of commissions each year, so every client works directly with the builder himself. From excavation to final trim, the craftsmanship is held to one standard because one person is accountable for all of it. Monien Construction was voted Best New Home Builder in Walworth County in 2022, and its clients say the same thing in different words: they would choose Monien again.
